The C. Clifford Flanigan Memorial Colloquium is the last graduate student event of the 2006-2007 academic year. It will take place on Friday, March 24th from 2pm to 4pm in Ballantine Hall 004. All Comparative Literature graduate students are encouraged to submit completed papers for consideration.
The due-date for abstract submissions is Saturday, March 3rd 2007. These submissions should be submited in hard-copy to the SAB mailbox on the 9th floor of Ballantine. Papers should consist of 10 pages approximately, and the formal presentation time is limited to 15 minutes. If you have further questions, please let us know.
There is no formal topic for this year's colloquium; however, the paper must use one of the following approaches: comparison, interdisciplinary work or translation. Lastly, this colloquium is a competition and it will consist of just three presenters. The Comparative Literature faculty will choose these three presenters from the submissions and then announce a winner after the colloquium. A reception will follow the event, and refreshments will be served.
